How to shop for office equipment
The Office Depot, the second largest office equipment company in the U.S., said on Thursday it will discontinue its supply of office chairs in 2019, citing higher than expected demand for the product.
“We have always been focused on providing the best customer service to our customers and we continue to do so,” the company said in a statement.
The company said it will work with suppliers and partners to continue to provide customers with high-quality office furniture that is safe and durable, but the decision will not be made until 2019.
The Office Depot has struggled to gain traction as an office furniture company, and it has been losing market share to rivals Amazon.com Inc. and Apple Inc. in recent years.
Office Depot said its retail stores, which it sells through its website, will close on March 2.
