Why the Vikings aren’t using the Vikings’ stadium for the 2019 season
What the Vikings are doing now: The Vikings have not announced any new stadium plans for 2019, but they are keeping close tabs on the situation.
The NFL Network reported earlier this week that the Vikings would have to make a decision on whether to move to a new facility by June 30, 2019, which would require a relocation fee of more than $20 million.
It also said the team could choose to relocate to a different site, but it has not yet done so.
If the Vikings decide to move, they would have the option of moving to a privately-financed stadium or a privately financed arena, and the Vikings could move to either location.
The NFL also said a decision could be made by the end of this month.
The team has also been in talks with other NFL teams about potential stadium use, and a source told NFL.com that a potential move to St. Paul is “very likely.”
The Vikings are scheduled to play at the University of Minnesota Stadium in Minneapolis on Aug. 31.
